Bunny changes

I thought i'd show you a few bunnys that I made today to show how versatile the Bootiful Stampz range can be ;)
Firstly I have used cup of bunny and removed the balloons, instead I gave bunny a spoon which I drew myself and coloured with silver gel pen, really easy to do.
The other one is gift bunny, although instead of holding the little prezzy he is peeking over the top of a stack of books, which is a magnolia stamp, this would be a great embellishment on a card or LO for a teacher or a student.

The following topper is ready made to go onto a card blank, I used pot of bunny and just used the top rim of the pot and bunny himself, I then drew a body and 2 feet with a black gel pen and coloured it all in, stuck all the bits together and voila! bunny is holding a sign instead of peeking over a pot, another example that this could be used for is for people who have taken their driving test, the sign could be a number plate saying 'U PA55ED'

Go on... get out your bunny stampz and have a go yourself! ;)

Tilda & Co - mix & match challenge

This weeks challenge over at Tilda & Co... MIX & MATCH

"Mix & Match 2 Magnolia Stamp images together to make 1 Image,Now this could be a simple as ,Taking a Tilda Stamp with a Basket and removing this and adding a Heart from another magnolia stamp so she is holding that instead of the basket, Or it could be as simple as Tilda's Head on a Magnolia Horse, Have a play and mix & Match your magnolia stamps to come up with a Unique Magnolia Image."

I chose to use 'Tilda with star ornament' but instead of the star, I cut out the teddy bear from 'Tilda with teddy' and used that instead.
I really like how this card has turned out, hope you like it too :)

Arte Y Pico award...

WOW! I can't believe that I have been given this award, by THREE lovely people, especially as I haven't had that much time to blog hop lately.
Kerry, Tracy and Tracie have chosen me to receive this fab award, Thank you so much ladies! xx

The Arte Y Pico Award is given to those who share their art and creativity and for making their contribution to the blogging world.

There are 5 rules attached to this and they are -
1. You have to pick 5 blogs that you consider deserve this award for their creativity, design, interesting material, and also contributes to the blogging community, no matter what language.
2. Each award has to have the name of the author and also a link to his/her blog to be visited by everyone.
3. Each award winner has to show the award and put the name and link to the blog that has given her/him the award itself.
4. Award winner and the one who has given the prize have to show the link of "Arte Y Pico" blog, so everyone will know the origin of this award.
5. To show these rules.

So now I pass this on to 5 people for their creativity and inspiration...

firstly, I just have to choose
Rosie... she is the first person that came to mind when thinking of creativity, design and interesting material, she constantly blogs her art work even though she is one of the busiest people I know.
I also want to send this award to
Sally, if it not for her creative designs there would never have been Bootiful Stampz.
Karen, for making gorgeous cards and magnificent cakes!
Little Cotton Rabbits, I've only recently found this blog and absolutely love the little toys and stamps that have been made by this very talented lady.
I'd also like to nominate this award to all of you that visit my blog, I really appreciate your comments and although I don't have the time to visit you all and leave comments as i'd like to, I'd like you all to know that I often get inspired and amazed at your lovely creations.

Blog header Update!

Firstly I want to thank each and everyone of you who have either had a blog header made by me or who just admire them and leave such wonderful comments, it really makes my day to know that the headers are appreciated :)

Ok, the reason for this post... I have decided to change the width of the headers that I make from 660 pixels wide to 648 pixels.
The reason why is because most of my requests are from blogger users using minima templates and to make the header fit correctly inside the double-line border each blogger needs to change the header-wrapper width in the html code of their blog.
Its is easier for me to reduce the width by just 12 pixels so that the header will fit correctly as soon as it is uploaded.
Obviously, I can try to help make fit any headers made for those that have any of the other templates, but as most of you are using minima and are changing the background to match your new headers it seems easier for me to make this change to the width.

Also... I tested an animated (sparkly) header today and found that once it uploaded to my test blog I couldn't change it back :o
I found the problem to be connected to IE (cookies perhaps?)
anyway, I had to use firefox to correct this glitch and now have a normal header again.
Just thought i'd mention it incase anyone else is having the same problem ;)

Thanks for taking time to read this, Jo xx

A blog header made for you

Blue and Yellow celebrations!!...

...Magnolia celebrations is this weeks theme over at Tilda and Friends.

The inspiration for our ATCs this week is taken from the colours of the Swedish Flag, the home of Magnolia stamps: Blue and Yellow.

So here is Edwin sitting on the box that his new train set has just arrived in!

Papertakes Sketch challenge

Onto another challenge (I'm on a roll today lol, making up for lost time)
Theres another template/sketch to follow this week at Papertake weekly.
The sketch is from the very talented Katharina.

Here is my card, I chose to use a Bunny Stamp from Bootiful Stampz and after cutting him out, gave him a tiny fabric teddy, ahhhh!
I stamped the nappy pins and dummies onto the top rectangular section, I will add a greeting to this another time as it could be used as a new baby card or a first birthday card.

Tilda & Co - Template challenge

This week, Tilda & Co's challenge is to use the template shown HERE.

Donna has also donated a church magnolia stamp as a prize too!... what a fab prize!!

Here is my entry, no Tilda or Edwin, I chose to use my magnolia gift stamp instead as I wanted to make a birthday card for my sisters best friend Jan, whose birthday is on April 1st.
I used my new dahlia stamp to add the design to the plain paper background, the stamp was given to me by another Jan, my friend from Auntys Forum, the stamp was a birthday gift, isn't it lovely? Thanks again Jan xx

Arty Girlz - Chocolate challenge!!

Sam Morris is the Guest Designer over at Arty Girlz this week and she has set this weeks challenge.

Make something that includes chocolate! Chocolate coloured paper, ribbons, flowers, chocolate smelling embossing powder. A chocolate cake perhaps! The only other condition is that it HAS to include only one other colour (oh ok I'll let you have white too then lol)

The challenge is sponsored by Ribbon Mad and there's a lovely prize up for grabs too!

I chose pink as my other colour, I started by making a topper for my chocolate brown card blank... I punched out 4 tiny flowers from a piece of brown cardstock and layered this onto pink cardstock, I used the same punch to punch out 4 pink glittered flowers and glued these into the holes that the brown flowers left behind so that the glitter flowers are flush with the brown card. I stamped my piggy trio and coloured them in with watercolours before cutting them out and gluing them to the centre of the topper, which I then stuck to the card blank. I cut out the 'friends forever' message and stuck this down, using the brown flowers that I originally punched out to finish.

From boys to men challenge

Over at Tilda & Co this week the challenge is 'From Boys to Men', meaning a project for the weaker sex... men! ;) lol
My friend Donna sent me a belated birthday pressie! Magnolia's book stack, which was on my 'to get' list, how great is that eh?!... and so kind of her, especially as she has limited stock of Magnolias left in her fab new look shop
Thank you Donna! xx
So... look what I made using the stamp! a fathers day card,
haven't decided whether to put Dad or Grandad on it yet though.

Arty Girlz 'Stars' challenge

And here is my entry in this weeks challenge over at Arty Girlz. The theme is 'Stars'...

"This week's challenge is 'Stars' so you could literally use Star shapes or do a creation based on a film star etc....as always we love to see the different ways that you all interpret our themes."

Well, the words 'film star' struck a cord with me (or should that be an accord! lol)
so here he is ...... Cap'n Jack Sparrow aka Mr Depp, a true star! (hubba hubba! be still my beating heart)

Just to make sure, I also added a star charm too, it's hanging from the raffia with the beads.

Stamps are from Tanda Stamps ;)

Tilda & Friends ATC challenge

This weeks challenge on the new Tilda & Friends ATC challenge blog is 'In the pink'.
Here is my entry, I used 'sonnets - love' paper from creative imaginations, then stamped princess tilda and the frog, a stamp I had as a birthday gift :), you can't see well on the pic but I added twinkling h20s to tildas crown, her wings and her shoes.

My hanging treat box

I couldn't have made this without the inspiration and instructions by Flowers and Ink, what a great project!
I always find men are hard to make cards for and, let's face it, gift buying isn't much easier is it!
So to combine the 2 in one is FABULOUS!
I had to alter the dimentions to accommodate a larger bar of choc though lol.
I added a small panel on the reverse (not shown) to add a greeting.

and a pic with the choc added...

This has been given to my friends hubby for his birthday.
THANK YOU Christina for inspiring me!! ;)

Monday 10 March 2008

I also made...

A red eyed tree frog ATC.
Those that know me know that I love frogs! and this is my favourite froggy.
When I saw this stamp I just had to buy it! I wanted the frog to be the main feature on this ATC so decided not to stamp the background but to paint the tree and leaves by hand in watercolours for a softer effect.

And here is a card that I have made for my friends son, he will be 16 on thursday and when he leaves school this year he is doing a mechanics apprentiship. Hamish fixing a tractor from the Sugar Nellie range is perfick then!

Bootiful stampz new designs

Here are a few examples using the new Bootiful Stampz bunny designs.
Firstly, here's Bunny Pocket, I stamped twice, once on plain watercolour paper and again on stripy chatterbox cardstock for the pocket.

Here is a card using the 2 new baby stampz, Bunny Bottle & Bunny Bootee, I haven't seen many cards made for twins so decided to combine both designs on one card. I cut the top with a scalloped edge and used my crop-a-dile to emboss the 3 dots top and bottom on the bottom, I think you can just about see the dots.

Here is a Easter bunny door hanger, using the Bunny Eggs stamp.

You can see the whole range of Bunny Stampz and lots more HERE

In fact there is a strong friendship between all of us on this fantastic site, theres always someone to share a laugh with, to get help from, to support each other, even to cry with if you need to.
Thank you for this award Jane and thank you for being my friend xx

And I dedicate this award to ALL of Auntys members ;)
It was my birthday on Saturday and I received the most beautiful birthday cards and gifts. Thank you all xx

Arty Girlz 'circles' challenge

This is the card I made last week for the Arty Girlz challenge.

This week's challenge is 'Circles' so anything goes as long as there is a circle somewhere on your creation..... could be buttons, brads, eyelets, circles in patterned paper etc....

I haven't been feeling too good the last few days and forgot to upload it.
The fairy was sent to me by a friend of mine from Auntys Forum as a RAK, it had been stamped in a pale green and then clear embossed when I received it, I coloured it in with my watercolour pencils then cut it out (very fiddly!)
Actually, if anybody knows the name and brand of this fairy stamp could you let me know please? I forgot to ask my friend and sadly isn't a regular poster on the forum anymore. TIA xx

I used a stripy paper that I got as a gift for a magazine subscription last year. Then cut 2 circles, one in cerise and a smaller one in pink glitter card, then put everything together on the card.
I added the cerise flowers which were infact pale green vellum to start with and were already embossed when I bought them from qvc. I coloured them with a cerise permanent pen then cut them out (very fiddly too!)
Finished with a small 'sister' greeting which was again coloured to match with permanent pen.
Hope you like my card :)
