Sketch #48 - 25th April

This weeks sketch is sponsored by our lovely regular, monthly sponsor, The Craft Barn, where this week Sandy has kindly donated 2 fantastic new kadoodle stamp releases! Go to Sketch Saturday now to see which ones they are ;)

Here is my card this week.
I have used a Miss Anya image that was given to me by my SU10 friend Vicki, thanks again Vicki! xx

I coloured her with watercolour pencils, cut her out with my coluzzle and chalked the edges before layering onto the purple paper, which I then cut to make a small border around the image.
The patterned paper was from a magazine, the glitter card and sentiment were both from my stash.
The rest of the cardstock and the scalloped DSP piece is by SU.

Hope you all have a great weekend and enjoy your crafting! ;)

19 years ago today...

... at 9:00 pm, my little girl was born, after a long 72 hour labour!

Happy Birthday Emma
love you loads xx

Here are her cards...

Yes, it's a boy on her card, but she is a St Georges day baby ;) and these WoJ images are ideal.
Her brother made the postman pat card for her, he's done brilliantly too! *well done Jake*
Emma may be 19, but she still loves 'Po Po Pat'!! :D

Happy St George's Day everyone, it's a pity that we don't get to celebrate today as much as other nations do :(

Sketch Saturday #47 and I get to choose a GD!

This weeks challenge over at Sketch Saturday is being sponsored by Emma Lockley, Emma has sponsored us before and we're delighted that she offered to sponsor us again, and that she is donating a fabulous prize... a whole set of Stampin Up stampin pastels!
as well as another great offer for everyone! a FREE full size stampin up ink pad with every order over £45!
I hope you will take part in our challenge to have a chance to win this fab prize!

This week also means we have a new guest designer!
I needed to find someone fast! someone who could work quickly and would be up for the challenge, so I posted a message late thursday night(!) on Auntys Forum, every member of this fab forum is worthy of being a GD, there's a wide range of styles and it was hard to choose just one, so offering it open to them was the fairest way.
Diane contacted me, she was prepared for the challenge at short notice! she didn't disappoint! her card is amazing!!!
Thank you SO much Morti! xx

and here is my card for this week...

I have used SU card stock for the card base (really rust)
The patterned paper is from my stash, I don't know the name of it, sorry.
The large cookie is cut from creamy caramel cardstock, has close to cocoa 'choc chips' and has a 'bite' taken from it using the scallop circle punch (all from SU)
The image is of course by Whiff of Joy (willow with cookies), isn't she sweet? I coloured her mainly with distress inks and with a few colours from SU
The sentiment is also SU, from the 'Yummy' set
The ribbon is from my stash, I bought loads of ribbon for little money from eBid.

tfl, have a lovely weekend!

Sketch Saturday #46

WOW!! what a fabby response to Tracie's sketch last week on Sketch Saturday!! not surprising though, because her sketch was fantastic! Thank you Tracie xx

Onto this week, and it's sketch #46 already :0
will soon be Sketch Saturday's first birthday! ;)
This week, our sponsor is Thread-Bare a website for craft goodies and a place to buy beautiful handmade cards and gifts.

Here is my card for this weeks sketch...

The beautiful Sarah Kay image is coloured with watercolour pencils.
I can't remember where I got the patterned paper from, sorry.
The card base is by stampin up, as is the lighter, vertical strip, which has been embossed with my paisley cuttlebug folder. I used that particular folder because it echoes the paisley stamp, also coloured in with watercolour pencils, that I have used for the leaves behind the flower.
I have added a few beads to a chain and hung them from the centre of the flower.
The 'special friend' tag and 'happy birthday' sentiments are both by Stamps Away.
The ribbons and gems from my stash.

Thanks for looking, have a lovely weekend and a very Happy Easter.

Here is my card, i've used a House Mouse image that my friend Emma gave me some time ago, it's soooooo cute, don't you think? I have coloured the image with watercolour pencils and used a sakura glitter pen on the sugar cubes.
