It's your BIG day!

Happy Wednesday to you :)
Here's another mid-week inspiration post for From The Heart Stamps.
and this time I took inspiration from my fellow FTH teamie, the fabulous Calypso, who made this fantastic card for a previous challenge, she is an amazing card maker :)
Her idea to turn this image into a 4 patty burger is a genius one, and perfect for a friend who is celebrating his BIG day this Friday...

You can grab Birthday Burger Birdbrain from the store. It comes with FOUR free sentiments too, I've used one of them here.
I coloured the image with promarkers, and added a strip of patterned paper (from Echo Park's 'splash!' pad) to the side. I don't think it needs anything more.

I'm entering this card at:
Creative Card Crew - Birthday with Sentiment
Less Is More - Wings
Craft Your Passion - Always Anything Goes
The Pink Elephant - Anything Goes
Passion for Promarkers - Letter of the Alphabet (B is for Burger, Birdbrains & BIG!)

It's Monday, so that means that it's time for a new I {heart}sketches challenge at From The Heart Stamps :)

Remember though, you must use an image by From The Heart Stamps to be eligible, and please include a pic of the sketch in your blog post too.

Here's my card...

I've made this card for a girl at work who said she was a little sad that she wasn't going to be a teenager anymore as she turns 20 this week.

I've used Martini Chicks,  coloured with promarkers as a base, then used my coloured pencils over top afterwards.
The spotty paper was free with a craft magazine some time ago, and is from a pad called 'Sew Pretty', I still had the pad on my desk from the last card that I made.
The purple/pink torn piece is by Provocraft, from the 'tags, bags, boxes & more' paper pad, I have had this paper for years, I bought it when I had a cricut machine and I sold that about 6 years ago!
The white scalloped edge was made using my eyelet border punch by Stampin Up.
'10 teen' was cut using Die-namics, By The Letter dies.
I found out some fuchsia pink organza ribbon from my stash to make the big bow, and finished with flowers using Die-namics flower and leaf trio die, with a sequin glued to the centre of each flower.

Bouquet without Chick

As you more than likely know by now, one of my favourite characters to use on a card are the Birdbrains by From The Heart Stamps. Faith really captures these little dudes and dudettes in such great poses which are sure to gain a smile when you see them :)
Have you seen the NEW RELEASES yet? there's a couple of new Birdbrains, as well as some new images that are perfect for Valentines.

Most of Faith's images come with free sentiments, and sometimes, you get additional images too.
So today, I wanted to show you one of these additional images.
I've used Bouquet Chick in the past, on this card (my debut GDT card).
But did you know that when you buy this digi, you also get the vase of flowers without the peeking chick?...

I've used this weeks sketch with a twist (#97) for my layout, and i've used the twist too, which is to use embossed cardstock. I chose an embossing folder from Cuttlebug's Heritage Companion Set for my background piece.
I resized, then printed one of the larger flowers again so that I could use it as an extra embellishment.
I coloured my images with Promarkers, then added some flatback pearls to the centre of the larger flowers.
The scalloped frame behind the image is actually a border die by cArt-Us ('fountain'), which has been cut up into individual scallops and then glued to the back of my oval. I started and ended at the point where I wanted to place my embellishment so that the slight gap between 2 of the scallops could be hidden.
The spotty paper was free with a craft magazine some time ago, I can't see the brand name anywhere on the pad, but the paper collection is called 'Sew Pretty'.
The sentiment is a stamp by Inkadinkado.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
Crafts Galore - use a stamp or digi
That Craft Place - anything goes
Crafting from the Heart - anything goes
Papertake Weekly - Hearts and/or Flowers

Fishing Birdbrain

It's time for another mid-week inspiration post by From The Heart Stamps.

This fab image is Fishing Birdbrain.
I've had him in my collection since he was released last summer, so it's about time I coloured him!
I've coloured using promarkers, as is usual for me, though I lightly sponged in the sky behind him.
The papers used here are from 2 different sources. The text paper is from my Kanban Male Backgrounds CD, and the zig-zig piece is from Echo Park's 'splash!' pad.
I've followed this week's sketch, which you can see HERE, please join us, remember, if you do you will earn $1 credit to spend in the FTH store, so you can save them up to grab yourself a new image! :)
The twist for this weeks sketch challenge is to make a handmade embellishment, so to keep with the fishing theme, I drew 2 wiggly worms with my promarkers onto some blush coloured cardstock, then cut them out and glued them in place.

I'm entering this card at:
That Craft Place - Anything goes
Digi Galore - Anything goes
Crafts Galore Encore - Use a stamp or digi
