Birthday dog

It's my friend's birthday next week, and this is the card i've made for her...

I've used one of the dogs and accessories stamps from Tim Holtz Crazy Dogs set, coloured with promarkers.
Happy is from Mama Elephant 'Celebration Balloons', and birthday is from Mama Elephant 'Photo Bomb' stamp set.
I tied some embroidery thread around the dogs tummy and glued the ends to the balloons, then used foam pads to raise the balloons and the dog.
The background was sponged with SU inks, and the shadows added with a promarker.

More CASEing

I was asked to make a card for a doctor who is retiring.
I saw this card while browsing on Pinterest, and thought it ticked all the boxes, so I decided to CASE it...

The patterned paper is by Lawn Fawn (Perfectly Plaid).
The plasters/band aids are from Paper Smooches First Aid stamp set.
Thanks was die cut using Dienamics By the Letter dies, I cut each letter twice and coloured one set with different promarkers and kept the other set white for off-set layering.
There's actually a bit of sparkle added to the letters and plasters with a clear spectrum noir glitter brush pen, unfortunately you can't see this on the photo.

Thanks for looking, and thank you to Nichole Heady for the inspiration.

FTHS May 2017 Blog Hop

Welcome to my stop on this month's From the Heart Stamps blog hop.

We have a “CASE it” theme this month.
Each team member will be showcasing a card CASE-d (copy and share everything) from another teammate.
As you hop along, please leave a comment on each blog.
One random commenter will be selected on each blog to win an image of choice from the FTHS store.

We are also having a link up contest with this hop.
We invite you to pick one of the FTHS DT members and “CASE” one of their cards and add it to linky collection, by Sunday May 7th.
Everyone who enters will be entered into a random drawing.
One lucky winner will win three images of choice from the store!

If you have arrived here from Imke, you are in the right place. If you haven't, why don’t you start at the From the Heart Stamps blog, so you don’t miss anything. The full hop list is there too.

I was given the opportunity to CASE the very talented Kathy Curry! :)
I spent hours looking through Kathy's amazing cards, and couldn't decide on just one, so I decided to combine TWO cards instead!

These are the cards, you can see Kathy's original post for them by clicking on either card.

Bunny swing/flip card                         Christmas Spirit Birdbrain card

As soon as I saw the bunny card I knew I wanted to make a swing/flip card too, what a great design!
And, as you all know, i'm a sucker for a Birdbrain, and this one has a red 3D nose! I also love the clean look of the card using minimal colours.

So, here's my card...

It took me quite a while to get the measurements right as it was all hand cut with a ruler and a precision knife. I also took the placement of the bow from Kathy's flip card too.
The image and colours (and nose!) were inspired from Kathy's Birdbrain card.

and here is the 'flip' side...

Image & sentiments used: Christmas Spirit Birdbrain
Colouring Medium: Promarkers
Papers: Pebble's Inc. (Sunny Side); Lawn Fawn (Let's Polka in the Meadow)
Die: Reverse Confetti (Layered bow Confetti Cuts)
Other: A flat back pearl coloured with Poppy red Promarker.

Now, please head over to the lady herself, Kathy, to see who she has CASE-d!

Thanks for hopping!
The hop will end on Sunday, May 7th at 6 am EST (11am UK time).
Winners will be posted on the From the Heart Stamps Blog on  Wednesday, May 9th.

And now, 2 for Laura's birthday!

Our youngest daughter is celebrating her birthday today.
This first card is the one I made for Laura from her dad & me...

I used the same 'Donut Worry' stamp set (by Lawn Fawn) that I used for Emma's card from Jake.
I used the co-ordinating die too.
I coloured the donuts with promarkers, added glossy accents to the icing, and raised them on foam pads to add to the 'box', which has no sides, it's just a strip of patterned paper, scored and folded, with a window cut out using an oblong die. I added acetate behind the window, then re-inforced the paper with card so that the lid could be opened too.

Sentiment: computer generated.
Papers: Stampin Up 'sweet always' dsp (retired); Carta Bella 'its a girl'.
Dies: Lawn Fawn 'donut worry' Lawn Cuts; Spellbinders oblong; Spellbinders D-lites 'victoria corner'.
Other: Glossy Accents; acetate; funky foam (for dimension), small heart punch; clear Wink of Stella.

I'd like to enter this at:
In The Pink - birthday
Seize the Birthday - Anything goes

and here's her card that I made for Jake to give to her...

I used Mama Elephant's Little Cat Agenda stamp set for this one, again, colouring the images with promarkers.
I stamped Happy Birthday (Inkadinkado) above, and die cut 'Sister' for beneath the kitties, they looked to plain though so doodled on them with a white gel pen, and now I think they look too busy!

Paper: Doodlebug 'hello sunshine'.
Dies: Dienamics By the Letter; Paper Smooches 'dots and dashes'; party banner die.
Other: Funky foam (for dimension), Clear Wink of Stella; Uni-Ball Signo white gel pen.
